How everything started...

Even when I was a child I knew some time I will breed dogs. After a lot of begging and asking my parents gave me my first dog. "Petite" was a Airedaleterrierbitch and my faithful attendant during my teenager time. My second dog was a Welch Corgi Pembroke male called "Mickel"; I bought years later on my own. I had to leave both dogs with my parents as I went to Germany for education. At that time I did not know that I would stay here.

1976 we moved from Frankfurt/Main to the country and at once I had to have a dog. This time I had no choice. I wanted to have a Labrador. At that time there were a lot of Labradors in Sweden and the Labrador was simply the family- and children dog. But my wish to become a chocolate bitch was impossible to be fulfilled and I could not wait. For that reason the yellow male Athos von der Ahelle named "Bamse" came to stay with us and breeding had to wait. Finally in 1980 it was the time for me to pick up my chocolate bitch, that I was longing for such a long time, in Sweden. I saw light in the breeding tunnel.

My kennel name should be a "prefix", short and impressive. Scandica is a "prefix" of two components - Scandinavia and my name Annika.

Ch. Puh's Micaela named "Emma" was the first chocolate international champion bitch in Germany. She was a brilliant hunting dog and passed several tests even the very hard "Verbandsschweissprüfung am Hoherodskopf". "Emma" and later on as well Ch. Puh´s Brown Autumn named "Börnen" came out of the kennel Puh from Brittmarie Brulin in Sweden. "Bat" was my breeding model and I learned a lot from her.

1983 I had my first A-litter with "Emma". 1990 I became from Monica Jarl-Winnberg, kennel Seabird in Sweden Ch. Seabird´s Kiss me quick to Scandica. We named her "Mian" (a joke form for Swedish nine - she was my ninth dog). From "Börnen" and "Mian" I kept Ch. Scandica Memory of Brown Autumn. "Muffin" was a chocolate bitch with very good hunting abilities and a lot of success in the show ring. Out of "Mians" litter with Ch. Kimvalley Legend was Ch. Scandica Oh´Sofin, "Soffi", a black and very pretty bitch! From my profession I am "Ergotherapeutin" and in the last years of my employment I took "Muffin" and as well "Soffi" to my part-time job in a establishment for psychical patients. It was amazing and touching to see how the dogs easily got close to these psychical handicapped and apathetic patients.

"Soffi´s" son with Ch. Cambremer Wellington, Ch Scandica Vagabound, "Bond" is excellent in the show ring and my absolute favourite darling; very spoiled and very pretty and sweet.

To get new blood in our breeding I bought 1997 together with Eva Ebeling ,Ch. Tjotte´s Wind of Change, "Rasmus", from Anncharlott Burmann. He transmits excellent healthy results and has success in the show ring.

Up to this point all of my dogs had at least past the BLP. For the dogs I had made my shooting-license! But, I am not getting younger!

In February 2002 I became from Norway the black bitch Mambrinos Pebbles. "Pebbles" is a ideal breeding bitch and is very much concerned about her puppies. From "Pebbles" two daughters and one son are still staying with us - Scandica Coca Cola, "Cola", Scandica Dry Martini, "Lisa" and Scandica Fisherman, "Pelle".
